Took a nice walk this evening in Bear Brook, first time in a couple weeks I've been able to get out in the woods.

What a change! Snow's all gone, and even with last night's rain, the mud is firming up nicely.  At least, I didnt

repeat my face plant ( masterfully performed after stepping in a calf-deep mudhole 3 weeks back).

Those of us who hike year round are not that thrilled with the return of spider silk, but it is always nice to see a newt.

I also saw a couple of beaver and a duck, and a turkey.

The woods are definitely waking up !
