After the latest snowstorm thought it might be interesting to go to Pawtuckaway again.
It was either that or go to the gym. Glad I chose the mountain :)
There was only a few inches of snow, but that was more than LAST WEEK:

Compared to TODAY:
There weren't many people out, I only saw 3 other hikers, and no snowmobiles. It was quite warm, leading to some odd conditions.
Numerous places seemed to have unfrozen ground beneath a few inches of snow. Lots of spots on the mountains where there was ice with an inch or three of snow. Enough snow to clog the spikes, but thin enough for the snow to slip off the ice. Some care required in a few spots, but not too bad really.
What gave me more trouble was coming down from Middle mountain; I chose to bushwhack heading down. It's steep but not very ledgy on the route I took. What made it weird was the very wet sticky snow. It kept building up on my spikes to the point where I'd often have 4 or 5 inch platform soles. The thick buildup and slippery snow made descent problematic; a couple near sprains and I opted to mostly back down the mountain. A little slow going, and a little erratic as you can see on the gps track :)
